| Favourite Formula and why? |
Any formula where I can recognise what I'm looking at (e.g. minis, MGs, Formula Renault, whatever) but not kit cars, specials, etc |
| Race driving experience |
None seriously - just a bit of testing and a dozen laps in a Formula BMW |
| How long and history with 750MC |
Marshalled with 750MC for 10-12 years but when Viv realised I had a CoC license she asked me to join the team |
| Other clubs you have worked for |
Most of my CoC duties are with BARC but I still marshal for other clubs and I am training for my Rescue Crew License. I am also a marshals training instructor. |
| Favourite circuit and why |
It's got to be Pembrey because that's where I started my practical involvement with motorsport as a trainee marshal. But every time I go to Cadwell Park I think "Wow"! |
| Best Meeting you have worked at and why |
I don't think any particular meeting comes to mind but, as a volunteer, a meeting seems worthwhile if you go home feeling you made a contribution to the runing of the meeting - be it helping an injured driver (as a marshal) or just running the day smoothly with satisfied customers (as a Clerk). [Don't get too many of those] |
| Outside interests |
Trying to keep the house watertight, warm and more-or-less presentable. Also vintage buses |
| Why you just lurve Saxmax |
It's great to see youngsters enjoying themselves at whatever they're doing and if it's motor racing what could be better? |
| Top Tip |
Try to find the time to spend a day marshalling. I am convinced tha seeing the sport from a different perspective will help you develop observation skills and spatial awareness - both of which equip you well for the rest of your career in motorsport |
