Competitions Secretary: My responsibility is to manage all the racing activities of the club, which includes the planning and organisation of twenty to twenty-five 750 Motor Club race meetings, 14 championships and getting on for 800 competitors.

Race driving experience

Started racing with the 750 Motor Club in 1981 in an MG Midget modsports car. Changed to a Turner and raced both in modsports and Roadsports until 1989.

How long and history with 750MC

Appointed as Competition Secretary in 1990.

Other clubs you have worked for

I also serve on the MSA (Motor Sports Association) Championship Control Panel, am Chairman of the MSA Race Committee, a member of the MSA Council, am a non-executive Director of the MSA and was the founding Chairman of the ABMRC (Association of British Motor Racing Clubs).

Favourite circuit and why

Probably Mallory Park. About the best spectating circuit in the UK, easy to run a meeting, very friendly circuit staff and the first circuit I raced on.

Best Meeting you have worked at and why

It is always the club’s Birkett Relay race, held every year at the end of the season. The atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed, it’s the perfect way to end the year.

Why you just lurve Saxmax

It’s really good to see such enthusiasm in ‘youngsters’ and to witness some quite promising driving.
